Licensing Matters was founded in 2005 and since that time has grown on word of mouth alone and has developed a reputation to be proud of.
We are the leading licensing consultancy in the UK and are known firstly for our knowledge, experience and professionalism, but equally for our down to earth and friendly approach. We work nationally and are an approved BIIAB training centre and member of the Institute of Licensing.
Gill had spent 5 years as a licensing police officer when the new Licensing Act caused her resignation and the formation of Licensing Matters in 2005. Not only has she been working with the legislation from the start, she is known for her no-nonsense, passionate approach to all things licensing. Her enthusiasm is what drives the business and new ideas and thinking outside the box her particular skill.
Gill is a busy lady and in 2017 she was honoured by the National Federation of Retail Newsagents with an award for her services to the industry and gave evidence to the House of Lords Select Committee during their post-legislative scrutiny of the Licensing Act.
Out of the office Gill loves to organise events and is always busy, either away with friends or seeking out the next fun thing to do. When she gets a minute, she spends time with her dogs Pepper & Megatron The Destroyer.
With the experience of 16 years in the police Paul is a born evidence gatherer and it has to be said, a very calming influence in the office. Paul runs the office but also loves the training side of the business as it gets him away from the routine. When training his humour always makes sure the class go away with a memorable experience and much improved knowledge.
Out of the office Paul loves his scooter (call it a moped at your peril), his road bike and cooking.
Laura joined the office in 2016 and is now very much part of the furniture at Licensing Matters. She has the sunniest of outlooks and as she is so tall is always useful for getting things off the top shelf.
Out of the office Laura enjoys spending time with her two girls and indulging her fetish for handbags.
